Tamim Iqbal: The Best Opener of Bangladesh
Tamim Iqbal is the nightmare for every bowler. Every knock with the ball on his bat spark flares over the air, ball runs away over the boundary, in the gallery there is one sound “Boom Boom Tamim.”
Tamim Iqbal is an aggressive batsman. He has keen knowledge of bowling and can easily destroy opposition’s bowling line up. Having natural talent of batting, he is perfect fit for all formats of cricket. He loves to stream brutal aggression on bowler. He played key role behind the victories of the Bangladesh National Cricket team in every match .
Named one of the best test players by Wisden Cricketer magazine, Tamim’s full name is Tamim Iqbal Khan. Born on March 20, 1989, in Chittagong, Tamim comes from a cricket family. Chittagong is the commercial capital of Bangladesh. His elder brother Nafis Iqbal and his maternal uncle Akram Khan also played in Bangladesh National Cricket team .
Tamim displayed his talents in batting since childhood. His late father Iqbal motivated him a lot. He organized many small tournaments for his better performance in cricket. His affectionate mother Nusrat Iqbal is also a great inspirational person in his life .
Tamim played in the Under 19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2006. He debuted against Zimbabwe at Harare. His performance brought him the attention of the cricket world in test match against New Zealand. At that match, he scored 137 runs by following year.
He served as the Vice Captain of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team from 2010 to 2011. To reduce the stress he stepped down.
At present, he is playing in Chittagong Division Cricket team on BPL (Bangladesh cricket Team ). He is the second Bangladeshi player to play county cricket in England after Shakib Al Hasan. He played for Nottinghamshire in June 2011. In 2012, IPL(Indian Premium League) he played with Pune Warriors.
Tamim is also a part time bowler. His bowling style is Right arm off break.

In May 2011, Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack named him one of the four Cricketers of the Year for his excellent performance against England. Same year in October, he was named Wisden’s Test Player of the Year. He is top run scorer in every format- Test, ODI, and T20 International. He is the only cricketer who picked up century in every format. Even this year, in ICC T20 World Cup in India, Tamim Iqbal was the highest scorer.
